Kneeboard tow hooks, straps, side bars and replacement parts to keep an older board going or upgrade a newer one. Tow hooks from Hydroslide, KD and Raptor. KD single-lock and extension straps. OBrien side bars and KD footman loops. Hydroslide retractable fins for a base in good shape that needs new hardware.
Kneeboard accessories are mostly about keeping the board you have on the water for another season, with the occasional upgrade thrown in. Three things wear or break: straps, tow hooks and side bars. Straps. Modern kneeboards mostly take a 3-inch strap — KD’s Single Lock Strap fits the majority, and the Extension Strap adds length for larger riders. Older boards use a thinner strap; if you’re not sure what yours takes, measure the existing one or bring the board in. Tow hooks. Most plastic and beginner-intermediate fibreglass kneeboards have a tow-hook insert moulded in. The hook lets you sit upright on the board between sets and tow yourself behind without crouching forward. We stock Hydroslide, KD and Raptor tow hooks — they’re not all interchangeable. The Mag Hook is our house design. Side bars. Used on some fibreglass boards as handholds during starts. OBrien side bars and KD footman loops are the common spares. Other. Hydroslide retractable fins for boards built to take them — useful on older Hydroslides where the original fin has been worn down. If the board itself is the issue rather than the hardware, the newer KD and OBrien kneeboards are a notable step up in pop and durability — see the kneeboards collection. Most accessory damage is from impact (rocks, banks, hard landings) and isn’t covered under warranty.
Most modern kneeboards take a 3-inch strap — KD’s Single Lock Strap fits the majority. Older boards take a thinner strap. If you’re not sure, measure the existing strap or bring the board into the Brisbane store and we’ll match it.
No — tow hooks fit only boards moulded with the right insert for one. Most plastic kneeboards have the insert; some fibreglass boards do, some don’t. If your board doesn’t have an insert, there’s no safe way to retrofit one — the impact load goes straight through the deck.
Side bars are usually board-specific by model and year. OBrien and KD bars cover the common modern boards; the fixing pattern (single bolt, double bolt, footman loop) tells you which. Bring the board in or send a photo of the existing fixing points if you’re not sure.
Yes — Hydroslide makes a retractable fin that fits boards designed for it. Older Hydroslides with worn fins can usually be brought back to life with a new one. If your board has a fixed moulded fin (not retractable), the fin itself isn’t replaceable — sand and re-paint can tidy the look but not the function.
