A tour coat keeps the wind chill off on cold rides, on the jet ski or in the boat. Some are water-resistant spray jackets that shed spray to keep you drier; others are neoprene for warmth that works even when wet. Mens and ladies cuts. We stock Jetpilot, Jet Tech, Follow and Ronix.
A tour coat is the outer layer that makes a cold ride bearable. Out on the water the wind chill does most of the damage — a tour coat blocks it, so you stay warm enough to keep riding when the temperature drops. It’s the jet ski and boat equivalent of a good cold-weather riding jacket. There are two main types, and they keep you comfortable in different ways. Spray jackets are water-resistant shells that shed wind and spray to keep you drier — light, packable and good for milder days and keeping the worst of the spray off. Neoprene tour coats work like a wetsuit top: they aren’t water-resistant and aren’t meant to keep you dry, but they hold warmth even when wet, which makes them the pick for genuinely cold mornings and long touring runs. Decide whether you mainly want to stay dry (spray jacket) or stay warm when you’re getting wet anyway (neoprene). Fit matters either way. A tour coat wants to be close enough to keep the wind out but roomy enough to move and to layer underneath. Check the sleeve and hem length if you’re after spray coverage on the ski, and look for a snug collar and cuffs, where the cold gets in. We stock mens and ladies cuts across the range. Rinse the coat in fresh water after salt use and dry it out of direct sun so the fabric and neoprene last. Waterskiers World stocks Jetpilot, Jet Tech, Follow and Ronix. It’s the outer layer that keeps the wind chill off on cold rides — on a jet ski or in the boat. It’s what lets you keep riding when the temperature drops instead of cutting the day short. Depending on the model it’ll either keep you drier or keep you warm when you’re wet.
A spray jacket is a water-resistant shell that sheds wind and spray to keep you drier — light and good for milder days. A neoprene coat isn’t water-resistant; like a wetsuit top it holds warmth even when wet, so it’s the pick for cold mornings and long runs. Choose by whether you want to stay dry or stay warm.
Yes — either type works in both. On the jet ski a water-resistant spray jacket keeps more of the spray off; in the boat it’s mainly about blocking the wind chill while you wait between sets. Many are cut long to keep your legs covered.
Yes — we stock mens and ladies cuts across the range, including unisex styles. A coat should sit close enough to keep the wind out but leave room to layer a thermal top underneath on the coldest days.
