Clamps, adjusters, cables and spares explained

Booms are simple in concept but the hardware around them matters — the clamp that holds them to your boat, the cable that braces them under load, the pin that lets you switch them between boats. This is where the spares and add-ons live. Clamps. The connection between the boom and your boat. The W206, W207 and W209 clamps suit different mounting diameters — you match the clamp size to the diameter of your tower, ski pylon or gunnel. Get the diameter right and the clamp does its job. Get it wrong and the boom doesn’t mount. If you’re not sure what size you need, measure your mounting point and send it through. Pylon boom inside and outside sections, tower turnbuckle and gunnel boom clamp. The structural pieces that build out a full boom mount on different boat configurations — typically ordered when assembling a new boom or replacing a damaged section. Cable systems. The cable system, cable block and cable protector work together on tower-mounted booms that need stay cables to handle skier load. The cable transfers some of the force off the boom itself and onto the tower structure. Height adjuster. A pin-system collar that lets you change boom height in seconds — swap from a kid’s riding height to an adult’s between sets without undoing and repositioning the whole clamp. If multiple riders of different sizes use the boom, the height adjuster pays for itself in saved time. Boom extension. Adds reach when the standard length isn’t quite enough for your setup. Handle attachments. The Boom Handle Attachment and Seahorse Kids Handle are what the skier actually holds onto — the kids handle is sized down for younger riders learning behind the boom. Quick-release pins. Available in 2 inch, 3 inch and 3.5 inch sizes for moving a boom between boats or fast removal at the end of a session. Protection. Pad sleeves wrap the boom to protect the rider on impact; gunnel saver protects your boat’s gunnel where a clamp mounts. Cheap insurance against scratched gel coat. Carabiner. The small reliable bit you’ll always lose first. For complete booms, see our Boom Bars collection.
