Jet ski eyewear that takes spray and stays on at speed — Jetpilot floating goggles, Sea Spec sunglasses built for water sports, interchangeable lens systems and the cases and retainers to keep them safe. From Jetpilot, Sea Spec and Jet Tech.
Regular sunnies don’t last a session on a jet ski. The constant spray fouls the lens, the wind at speed tears anything loose off your face, and one crash sends them to the bottom. Eyewear built for water sports solves all three. Goggles. Sealed against your face, goggles keep spray and wind out of your eyes completely — the only way to see clearly at speed in real chop. The Jetpilot H2O frameless and Vault Vision range are floating, fog-resistant and polarised, in high-vis colours so they’re easy to spot in the water if they do come off. The OTG model fits over prescription glasses. Water-ready sunglasses. Sea Spec makes sunnies cut specifically for water sports — close-fitting wrap frames with grippy arms that stay on at speed, plus floating frames and polarised lenses. The Iguana, Destroyer and Classic Soleil styles cover the range, and the Jetpilot Shield Interchangeable Eyewear swaps lenses between bright and overcast. Why polarised matters. Polarised lenses cut the harsh glare bouncing off the water — less squinting, less fatigue, and you can actually see into the water rather than at a wall of light. On a long day in the boat or on the ski, it’s the difference between coming home tired and coming home wrecked. Retainers and straps. The Jetpilot Floating Sunglasses Retainer is cheap insurance — it keeps your sunnies on through a fall and floats them if they do come off. Worth adding to any pair you wear on the water, floating or not. Cases and replacement lenses. Sea Spec hard cases protect frames in the kit bag. Replacement lenses for the Jetpilot RX range and Sea Spec keep good frames going long after you’d normally write them off. Brands. Jetpilot covers the goggle range and floating sunnies. Sea Spec is the water-sports sunglass specialist. Jet Tech adds a hybrid sunglass-goggle option. Care. Rinse the salt off after use, dry with a soft cloth (not a shirt) to protect the coating, and store in a case so the lenses don’t scratch.
If you’re riding at speed or in real chop, yes. Spray and wind hit your eyes hard enough to make seeing properly difficult, and any speck of grit at speed is painful. Floating, polarised goggles keep your vision clear and seal out the spray completely. For cruising at moderate speed, sunnies on a strap will do the job.
Goggles seal completely against your face — best for freestyle, racing, or riding through heavy spray. Sunnies are easier to put on and take off for cruising, and a wrap-frame water-ready sunny stays on at moderate speed. Plenty of riders carry both: sunnies for the cruise out, goggles for when they start pushing it.
Yes — the floating models are built so the frame sits on the surface if they come off in a fall. It turns a lost pair into a quick reach over the side. For extra security, add a retainer strap — the strap keeps them on your head, and floats them if the fall is hard enough to dislodge both.
Yes — the Jetpilot floating range and Sea Spec sunnies are all polarised. That cuts the glare bouncing off the water, which is easier on your eyes over a long day and lets you see into the water rather than at a wall of light. Check individual product pages for specific lens specs.
