A kneeboard tow hook is the metal or nylon fitting mounted on the nose of a kneeboard that attaches the tow rope. It provides a secure, low-profile connection point that sits flat against the board, reducing drag and keeping the rope angle consistent during riding.
Replace your kneeboard tow hook if it shows cracking, significant bending, or if the tow rope no longer sits flat and secure in the hook. A damaged tow hook can cause the rope to release unexpectedly mid-run, creating a safety hazard.
Most kneeboard tow hooks use a standard mounting footprint that fits the nose of the majority of kneeboards from OBrien, KD, Hydroslide, and other brands. If you are replacing a hook on an older or unusual board, contact Waterskiers World to confirm compatibility before ordering.
Yes — any standard kneeboard or slalom rope with a loop end is compatible with a standard kneeboard tow hook. Run the loop through the hook and back over itself to secure it before each ride and check it has not worked loose before starting.
Rinse the tow hook and its mounting hardware in fresh water after every use, especially after saltwater. Check the bolts for corrosion and tightness before each session, and replace the hook if it shows cracking, bending, or rust — a stainless hook resists corrosion best in marine use.
