Kneeboard ropes and handles built for the kneeboard tow hook — handles with a hook bar so they don’t bend or break in the hook, plus a Rope Keeper to stop tangles. From Masterline and Straight Line.
Most kneeboards have a built-in tow hook — a metal hook on the front of the board that holds the handle through the deep-water start, so the rider can concentrate on getting up onto their knees instead of fighting the rope. That hook changes what handle you need. Why a kneeboard-specific handle. Regular EVA or suede grip handles aren’t built for the tow hook — the hook bends or breaks them in normal use, and a failing handle mid-start is no fun. Kneeboard handles are built with a reinforced hook bar designed to sit in the hook safely, so they hold up to the load and don’t deform. The range. The Masterline Kneeboard Rope & Handle is the standard pick. The Deluxe version steps up the materials and grip. The Womens cut is narrower for smaller hands. The Straight Line Static gives a more responsive feel for riders chasing tricks. Rope construction. Kneeboarding doesn’t need a Spectra or Dyneema mainline for most riders — the standard recreational rope that comes with these packages works fine. Spectra and Dyneema are a worthwhile upgrade only when you’re working serious tricks where the zero-stretch consistency matters; for everyone else, the standard rope is the right tool. The Rope Keeper. The Waterskiers World Rope Keeper is a simple winder that holds your rope neatly between sets — stops tangles in the boat, keeps the rope from sitting in the sun and degrading, and makes the next set a lot less faff. Brands. Masterline covers the bulk of the range across mens, womens and deluxe options. Straight Line brings the Static for more advanced riders. Safety reminder. If your kneeboard has a tow hook, always use a hook-compatible handle. Don’t put a regular ski or wakeboard handle in a tow hook — it’ll fail.

Not for most riders. The standard recreational rope that comes with these packages works fine for kneeboarding. Spectra and Dyneema are a worthwhile upgrade only if you’re working serious tricks where the zero-stretch consistency matters — for casual and intermediate riding, it’s not needed.
A simple winder that holds your rope tidy between sets — stops tangles in the boat, keeps the rope out of the sun (which degrades it over time), and makes the next set faster to set up. Works with any rope, not just kneeboard. Cheap and worth having in the boat.
