Ronix makes two different kinds of vest, and the difference matters. An L50S life vest is a certified personal flotation device — 50 newtons of buoyancy, Australian Standards Level 50S approved, and a legal requirement for wakeboarding, waterskiing and other towed watersports in Australia. The "S" means it's approved for smooth water — lakes, dams and rivers — which covers most towed sports, and L50S vests can be any colour. An impact jacket is a different product. It's built for a snug fit and impact protection during wakeboard crashes, not as an approved flotation device, so on its own it doesn't meet the legal life-vest requirement. Choose an L50S model when you need to comply; wear an impact jacket for protection and comfort where an approved vest isn't legally required. Ronix covers the whole family — mens, womens, teen and kids L50S vests, plus mens and womens impact jackets. Sizing is by chest measurement, and for kids by weight. Children must never be put in an adult-sized vest: it rides up in the water and can come off over the head in a fall. Fit is what makes a vest work. It should feel very snug when dry — it loosens a little once wet — and you should always fasten both the zip and the side buckles. A loose vest reduces flotation and can slip off in a heavy fall. Hand wash in mild detergent to clear salt, sunscreen and grime, never machine wash, and store out of direct sun. A Ronix L50S life vest is a certified flotation device — 50N buoyancy, Australian Standards Level 50S approved — and meets the legal requirement for towed watersports. A Ronix impact jacket is built for fit and impact protection during wakeboard crashes, not as an approved PFD, so it doesn’t meet that requirement on its own. Choose L50S if you need to comply.
Yes — Ronix L50S vests are Australian Standards Level 50S approved, with 50 newtons of buoyancy. The ‘S’ means they’re approved for smooth water — lakes, dams and rivers — which covers wakeboarding, waterskiing and most towed sports. For open or partially smooth water you’d need at least an L50.

Yes — Ronix makes teen and kids L50S vests alongside the mens and womens range. Fit a child to a vest sized for their weight; children must never wear an adult-sized vest, as it rides up and can slip off over the head in a fall.
