Designed by two-time barefoot world champion Mike Seipel, it attaches to any boat without needing a ski pole, spanning across the boat and clamping to both gunnels for boats up to 84 inches wide. That makes it the most versatile option for boats without a factory pylon, and it is designed not to damage your gunnels.
It is compatible with the Boom Handle (B111) and Boom Extension (B110), but not the Height Adjuster (B107). It uses a dual stainless steel cable system to the bow with no levers or moving parts in the clamp, and a quick-release pin for easy attachment and removal.
A barefoot boom is a rigid bar that extends out from the side of the boat so a skier can hold on close to the hull while learning and practising barefooting. It keeps the skier in clean water beside the boat and lets a coach watch and talk them through technique, which is why booms are the standard tool for learning barefoot starts.
Rinse boom bars, extensions and fittings in fresh water after use, especially in salt water, and dry them before storage. Keep the quick-release pins releasing smoothly with a light clear silicone grease, and check that set screws, clamps and cables are tight and undamaged before each session.
