The Fly High Female GHT and Male Quick Connect adapter bridges a female garden hose thread (GHT) connection to Fly High's male quick connect fitting. It allows hoses with garden hose thread ends to connect into Fly High's quick connect ballast plumbing system.
The female end uses standard garden hose thread (GHT), which is the most common hose fitting size. The male end connects into Fly High's quick connect system. Confirm your hose end uses GHT thread before purchasing this adapter.
If you have a ballast pump or hose with a garden hose thread outlet but your bags use Fly High quick connect fittings, this adapter allows the two systems to be joined without replacing all fittings. It is a simple and cost-effective compatibility solution.
Yes — applying PTFE thread tape to the GHT thread before connecting can improve the watertight seal and prevent slow leaks. This is particularly recommended for applications where the connection is repeatedly tightened and loosened between sessions.
Rinse with fresh water after saltwater sessions and inspect threads and seal surfaces for corrosion or damage. Replace if threads are stripped or the seal no longer holds watertight — a leaking ballast connection can allow significant water ingress into the boat.
