How to fit your vest
An L50S is certified to Australian Standard AS 4758 Level 50S (PFD 3) and comes in any colour — the common choice for waterskiing, wakeboarding and tubing. Where it can be used is set by your state — see our state-by-state life vest guide.
L50 and L50S carry the same buoyancy. The difference is colour: an L50 must be high-visibility, which is why PWC riders often wear them, while an L50S comes in any colour and is the usual pick for towed watersports. It is an infant vest chosen by your child's weight. Fit it snug with the neoprene crotch strap fastened so it cannot ride up or slip off, and lift firmly at the shoulders to check it stays in place.
It is built from soft neoprene that is comfortable in and out of the water, with a padded crotch strap and a grab handle on the headrest pillow so you can lift your child cleanly from the water.
Rinse your vest in fresh water after every use and let it drip-dry out of direct sunlight before storing it dry. Check the straps, buckles, zips and foam regularly, and retire any vest with damaged fittings or compressed foam, as this can reduce its buoyancy and safety.
