The Catapult comes in a single 4'11" and suits riders from beginner through to advanced, with a light, buoyant feel that gives plenty of push on the wave.
Its mellow, balanced volume and stable swallow-tail shape make hanging in the pocket easy, so it suits beginners building confidence as well as more advanced riders.
An epoxy construction over an EPS foam core with a 5 mm stringer for a light, buoyant feel, a full EVA deck pad, a stable swallow-tail shape, and a tri-fin setup (two 3.6-inch FCS side fins and one 4.5-inch centre fin) that lets you run three fins for grip, two for performance, or a single centre fin for a longboard feel.
It is a surf-style board, built for push, drive and stability on the wave rather than a loose skim feel.
Surf-style boards have more volume, thicker rails and larger fins, giving strong drive down the line and a surfy, wave-riding feel that suits most riders. Skim-style boards are thinner and flatter with smaller or fewer fins, so they sit looser and skatey on the wave, making spins, shuvits and surface tricks easier but taking more balance. Many riders start on a surf style and move toward skim as they progress.
Wakesurfer size is guided mainly by rider weight and skill: heavier riders and beginners suit a longer board with more volume for easier planing and stability, while lighter or more advanced riders can drop to a shorter, looser board. Board style matters too, as skim boards are usually ridden shorter than surf boards. Check the size guide or ask our team for a recommendation.
