The colour-coded sections give a clean visual confirmation of shortening length from the boat without checking sleeves first.

Slide-loop construction across ten removable sections makes shortenings quick to take on and off the pylon, and length ID sleeves at each section give a second method of length confirmation. The rope is UV resistant so colour and material don't break down through repeated sun exposure.

A regulation water ski mainline is 23 metres (75 feet) to the handle at its longest, and is divided into shortening sections or loops that let skiers reduce the length as speed and skill increase.
