RTP stands for Rear Toe Plate — the rear binding on a slalom ski that secures the back foot. A fixed RTP locks the foot in position for maximum energy transfer, while an adjustable RTP allows some movement for easier entry and release.
A fixed RTP provides a locked, stable rear foot position that transfers more energy into the ski during the turn and cross-wake. Advanced skiers often prefer fixed RTPs for this reason, while beginner and intermediate skiers may find an adjustable RTP more forgiving on falls.
Rear toe plates mount to your ski's rear binding inserts. Most use a standard insert pattern compatible across brands, but some systems (such as HO's Direct Connect) use a different bolt pattern. Check your ski's rear insert configuration against the RTP's mounting hardware before ordering, or contact us to confirm.
Fixed RTPs mount at a set position determined by your ski's insert locations. Most slalom skis have multiple insert positions allowing you to move the RTP forward or back by 1–2cm increments to adjust your stance width. Loosen the binding bolts, slide to the desired position and re-tighten firmly.
Yes — Waterskiers World stocks replacement RTP rubber, overlays, and mounting hardware for HO, Connelly, and other brands. If your current RTP rubber is worn but the plate is intact, replacing just the rubber is a cost-effective fix before buying a new binding.
