S-Lines X Series Slalom Rope Standard Loop

The S-Lines X Series Standard Loop is S-Lines' newest tournament slalom water ski rope, built around a next-gen yarn and a modified braid layup that fine-tunes recoil timing for a stiffer, more evenly balanced response than previous generations. The X Series is positioned for short-line skiers who want a rope that responds right out of the box without a long break-in period.

Despite being stiffer than earlier S-Lines ropes, the X Series carries a touch of forgiveness compared to previous generations — useful through the gate where pure-stiffness ropes can shock the rider. Standard loop construction is the classic tournament shortening method — proven on the course, no learning curve compared to slide-loop alternatives. Shortenings through 9.75m. Handmade in the USA.

Choose the X Series Standard Loop if you ski the slalom course at advanced shortenings and prefer traditional standard-loop shortening over slide loops.

Available Lengths: Shortenings through 9.75m

With standard loops — the classic tournament shortening method, proven on the course with no learning curve versus slide loops. Shortenings through 9.75m. It uses the same next-gen stiffer, evenly balanced yarn as the X Series range, handmade in the USA.
Choose Standard Loop if you prefer traditional standard-loop shortening; the Slide Loop if you want quicker shortening swaps between passes. Both share the same X Series next-gen yarn and stiffer, balanced feel with a touch of gate forgiveness.
A water ski rope is defined by its construction, number of shortening sections, and bridle style. Recreational ropes use low-stretch polypropylene with a wide bridle for stability, while tournament mainlines use pre-stretched or knotless sections for consistent, repeatable shortening lengths. Match the rope to your discipline — combo and recreational skiing, slalom, or trick — and pair it with a suitable handle.
A regulation water ski mainline is 23 metres (75 feet) to the handle at its longest, and is divided into shortening sections or loops that let skiers reduce the length as speed and skill increase. Some recreational ropes are a single fixed length. Check the individual product listing for its exact length and section breakdown.
Rinse in fresh water after each use and dry before storing. Coil the rope loosely — tight coiling can set kinks that affect performance. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct UV exposure to preserve the rope and the handle grip. Inspect section connections for wear before each session.
