Sands Barefoot Shorts are specifically designed for barefoot water skiing. They provide protection for the hips, thighs, and lower back from water impact during barefoot falls and slides, which occur at high speed and can cause significant skin abrasion.
Sands Barefoot Shorts are constructed from neoprene or similar impact-resistant material that provides both protection and flexibility during barefoot water skiing. The material absorbs impact energy and reduces skin damage during high-speed falls.
While Sands Barefoot Shorts provide good hip and thigh protection for any water sport involving falls, they are specifically designed and padded for the impact patterns experienced in barefoot water skiing. They can be worn for wakeboarding and general skiing as well.
Sands Barefoot Shorts are available in multiple sizes. Refer to the Sands size guide on the product page for measurements to ensure a snug, protective fit. Barefoot protection shorts should fit close to the body without restricting movement.
Rinse the shorts in fresh water after every session, particularly after saltwater use. Hand wash in mild detergent if needed and hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Avoid machine drying as heat can compress or damage the protective padding material.
