The Tadpole is approved to AS4758.1 Level 100, the higher-buoyancy category designed to more effectively float a child face-up. The large buoyant collar helps support a child's head, making it a strong choice for general and open-water boating as well as towed watersports.
Yes. It is Australian Standards approved to Level 100 for children within its weight range, and an approved, correctly sized PFD is a legal requirement for children in boats and towed watersports. Its buoyant collar, reflective patches and lifting handle add extra safety for young children.
The Tadpole is weight-rated in 5-10 kg and 10-15 kg. Fit it snug with the crutch strap done up so it cannot ride up or pull off over the head, then lift firmly at the shoulders to check it does not slide past the ears.
It has a large buoyant head-support collar, reflective patches for visibility, a grab handle for lifting a child cleanly from the water, and an adjustable neoprene crutch strap secured with two 25 mm straps for a snug, comfortable fit.
Rinse your vest in fresh water after every use and let it drip-dry out of direct sunlight before storing it dry. Check the straps, buckles, zips and foam regularly, and retire any vest with damaged fittings or compressed foam, as this can reduce its buoyancy and safety.
