First-timer setups across the major brands

Why a package for a first-timer. Buying a board and boots that are matched in size, stance and skill level is harder than it sounds — and getting it wrong means a board that doesn’t track, boots that don’t fit, or worse, a setup that makes it harder to learn. Packages take that decision off the table: the brand has paired the board with bindings that work together for a new rider. What makes a good beginner board. Easy edge hold, more forgiving on landings, slower edge-to-edge response (so you have time to correct), wide enough to give lift and stability, with a continuous rocker that catches less. All the packages in this collection meet those criteria. Brand spread. The collection covers beginner packages from Ronix, Liquid Force, Hyperlite, Connelly and KD — different rocker philosophies and boot designs across the brands, but all sized for new riders. Boat vs cable. Most packages here are boat boards (built for the wake behind a tow boat). The collection also includes occasional cable-specific beginner packages. Boat boards aren’t built for cable park obstacles and rails — impact damage isn’t covered under warranty. If you’re starting at a cable park, filter for cable-specific options or call us to confirm. Mens, womens, kids — pick correctly. Beginner boards are size-specific. Womens boards generally aren’t shorter — they’re width-and-flex-tuned for typical womens body weight. Kids boards are scaled down with shorter lengths and lower flex for lighter weight. Sizing. By rider weight, not by height. Every product page has the manufacturer chart. As a beginner, if you’re between sizes, go one size up — more stability, more lift on the start, easier learning. You can size down later when you’re confident and want more agility. Try Before You Buy. Selected boards across brands are in our demo fleet. Hire fees vary by product. Call to book a week ahead. Care. Rinse with fresh water after every session. Store out of direct sun. Check binding screws before each ride.
