Wakeboard length is based mainly on your body weight, not height — heavier riders need a longer board for support and lighter riders a shorter one for control. Many complete packages pair a softer-flexing, forgiving board with comfortable boots that suit beginners and intermediate riders learning behind the boat. Check the listed skill level — stiffer, higher-performance setups are aimed at advanced riders pushing bigger tricks.
You can, but riding cable rails and obstacles causes base and impact damage that boat-wakeboard warranties don't cover. If you mostly ride cable, choose a board built for it; for riding behind the boat, a standard wakeboard package is the right choice.
A continuous rocker is a smooth, even curve from tip to tail that gives a fast, predictable ride and quick edge-to-edge transitions, ideal for carving and all-round riding. A 3-stage rocker has a flatter middle with more lift at each end, giving a bigger, more vertical pop off the wake for jumps and tricks, with a slightly slower feel through the water.
