All measurements in inches. Settings are manufacturer starting points — fine-tune to your weight, speed and water conditions. Need a hand? Talk to our team — we've ridden what we sell.
Getting your ski's fin and binding settings right is one of the most important — and most overlooked — parts of skiing well. Factory settings are the result of extensive R&D and real-world testing by the brands' own pro teams. They are your best starting point, regardless of your level. Use the finder below to look up factory and pro team settings for your ski. Select your brand, model, year and ski length to narrow the results down instantly. Not sure where to start? Always return to factory settings before making any adjustments. Change only one thing at a time, and always record your starting numbers before touching anything.
Boot placement (binding location) Measured in inches from the tail of the ski. Moving the boot forward makes the ski feel shorter and more responsive with tighter turns. Moving it backward gives a longer, more open-radius feel. The middle hole of the available range is almost always the factory starting point.
Fin length A longer fin drives the ski tip into the water during off-side turns. A shorter fin raises the tip. Never adjust more than 0.020" at a time.
Fin depth More depth improves stability and holding power. Less depth makes the ski easier to roll edge-to-edge and initiate turns faster. The most sensitive of the three measurements.
DFT (distance from tail) Moves the fin forward or backward in the fin box. Forward = ski acts shorter, more aggressive. Backward = slower response, wider turn radius.
Wing / foil angle Slows the ski into the turn. Factory settings are typically 7–9°. Never go below 6° — risk of tail blowout. Can be removed for casual recreational skiing.
⚠️ The fin has a dramatic effect on performance. Always record factory settings before making any changes. Change one thing at a time. If in doubt, return to factory.
