Its taller, stiffer rubber overlay with aggressive lateral stiffening transfers your movements directly to the ski and keeps you planted through hard cuts. Open-toe, in sizes S (5-7), M (8-9), L (10-11) and XL (12-13).
An adjustable front toe strap fine-tunes your fit and kills heel lift, keeping you connected to the ski without fighting the binding. The 3D contoured footbed cradles your foot to reduce fatigue, and neoprene-lined toe and heel rubbers with Lycra-rolled edges keep entry and exit smooth.
Slalom ski bindings are sized by your everyday shoe size, and most open-toe boots cover a range (for example 7-11) rather than a single size — the open toe lets a spread of foot sizes fit comfortably. Check the size range listed on the product against your shoe size; if you're between ranges or buying for a growing junior, size up to the larger range. Closed-toe and hard-shell boots fit more precisely, closer to a single size.
Most modern slalom bindings mount to the ski's universal insert holes (the standard 6-inch pattern) or bolt onto a plate, so they fit the majority of current slalom skis. Always check your ski's hole pattern, and for a rear boot or rear toe plate, that it matches your front binding's mounting. Note that some rear boots and plates aren't cross-compatible between brands — for example, HO rear boots don't fit rear Radar or Connelly inserts — so confirm the combination before mixing brands.
A complete slalom setup needs a front binding (your front foot goes in fully) plus a rear. The rear can be a full rear boot, which holds your back foot like the front for the most control, or a rear toe plate (RTP) — a simple toe piece your back foot rests in rather than laces into. An RTP lets your back foot slide out more easily (useful for learning deep-water starts or skiing with one foot out), while a full rear boot locks you in for maximum edge control. Front bindings are usually sold separately from the rear.
