The Hyperlite Gromcast comes in one size, 3'9". This compact length suits young or lighter riders, giving them a board they can manoeuvre easily while still offering a wide, stable surface. Our wakesurf size guide can help you check the fit for your child's weight and height.
The Hyperlite Gromcast is built around a Biolite 3 core with monocoque construction and layered glass for a light, durable kids' board. A dual concave base and rolled edge profile keep it stable and forgiving, and it takes up to three fins so the ride can be tuned as skills grow.
The Hyperlite Gromcast is a forgiving surf-style board shaped for young riders. Its wide outline, rounded squash tail and dual concave base favour stable, predictable carving over aggressive skim-style spins, giving groms a steady feel while they learn to ride the wake.
Surf-style boards have more volume, thicker rails and larger fins, giving strong drive down the line and a surfy, wave-riding feel that suits most riders. Skim-style boards are thinner and flatter with smaller or fewer fins, so they sit looser and skatey on the wave, making spins, shuvits and surface tricks easier but taking more balance. Many riders start on a surf style and move toward skim as they progress.
Wakesurfer size is guided mainly by rider weight and skill: heavier riders and beginners suit a longer board with more volume for easier planing and stability, while lighter or more advanced riders can drop to a shorter, looser board.
