The Hyperlite Storm is an advanced skim-style pro model shaped for skilled female riders. Built to the demands of world champion wakesurfer Jodi Grassman, its wide tail and blunt tip and tail profile favour speed and a deep repertoire of technical tricks, so it suits confident, progression-focused riders.
The Hyperlite Storm comes in three sizes: 46", 50" and 54". Lighter riders after a looser, snappier feel can size down, while riders wanting more speed and stability can size up. Our wakesurf size guide can help you match length to your weight and riding style.
The Hyperlite Storm uses woven carbon construction over a Nova core for a light, snappy and responsive ride. A minimal rocker and flat base drive speed across the wake, a wide tail loosens the board for tricks, and a fully machined EVA traction pad keeps your feet locked in.
The Hyperlite Storm is a skim-style board. Its flat rocker, minimal base curve and wide, blunt tail favour loose, skate-like spins, slides and surface tricks rather than the drive-focused carving of a surf shape, matching its pro-model skim design.
Surf-style boards have more volume, thicker rails and larger fins, giving strong drive down the line and a surfy, wave-riding feel that suits most riders. Skim-style boards are thinner and flatter with smaller or fewer fins, so they sit looser and skatey on the wave, making spins, shuvits and surface tricks easier but taking more balance. Many riders start on a surf style and move toward skim as they progress.
Wakesurfer size is guided mainly by rider weight and skill: heavier riders and beginners suit a longer board with more volume for easier planing and stability, while lighter or more advanced riders can drop to a shorter, looser board. Board style matters too, as skim boards are usually ridden shorter than surf boards. Check the size guide or ask our team for a recommendation.
