The Hyperlite Frotha 2.0 suits advanced male riders who want a lively, high-performance wakesurfer. Its twin fin setup and wide swallow tail favour dynamic turns and aerials, so it rewards riders who already carve confidently and want to push into more technical surf-style riding.
The Hyperlite Frotha 2.0 comes in three lengths: 4'6", 4'8" and 5'0". Choose a longer board for more float and stability if you are heavier or still building speed, and a shorter board for a looser, more responsive feel. Our wakesurf size guide can help you match length to weight and skill.
The Hyperlite Frotha 2.0 uses handmade epoxy construction over an EPS core with a wood stringer, giving a responsive, controlled ride. A single-to-double concave base, true twin fin setup and wide swallow tail generate speed and drive, while FCS II toolless fin boxes make fin changes quick.
The Hyperlite Frotha 2.0 is a surf-style wakesurfer. Its twin fin setup, wide swallow tail and sharp rails favour drive down the line, powerful carving turns and boosting off the wake, rather than the loose spins and slides of a skim board.
Surf-style boards have more volume, thicker rails and larger fins, giving strong drive down the line and a surfy, wave-riding feel that suits most riders. Skim-style boards are thinner and flatter with smaller or fewer fins, so they sit looser and skatey on the wave, making spins, shuvits and surface tricks easier but taking more balance. Many riders start on a surf style and move toward skim as they progress.
Wakesurfer size is guided mainly by rider weight and skill: heavier riders and beginners suit a longer board with more volume for easier planing and stability, while lighter or more advanced riders can drop to a shorter, looser board. Board style matters too, as skim boards are usually ridden shorter than surf boards. Check the size guide or ask our team for a recommendation.
