Trick skis are short, wide, finless skis designed for spins and surface tricks. The compact, edge-to-edge shape lets the skier rotate and slide freely at low speed, unlike a slalom ski built for carving. They suit riders learning tricks through to competitive trick skiers.
Trick ski size is chosen mainly by the skier's weight — heavier skiers use a larger ski for support, lighter skiers and children a smaller one. Check the product's recommended weight range and match it to the skier.
Trick skis take a front binding and often a rear toe plate or second binding for two-foot tricks. Most use a standard insert pattern compatible with common trick and slalom bindings. Check the ski's inserts against your bindings before ordering.
Trick skiing is done at slow speeds — commonly around 15–21 mph (about 24–34 km/h) depending on rider weight and preference — which gives control for spins and surface tricks. Start slower while learning.
Trick skiing uses a low-stretch trick rope (often poly or Spectra) with a wide trick handle, and many trickers use a toe handle for toe tricks. Match the rope and handle to your discipline; both are available for trick skiing.
