O'Brien has been building water skis and towables for decades, and the range we stock covers the gear that gets a whole family on the water. The Celebrity and Vortex combo skis are the core — a pair of shaped skis with adjustable bindings, sized for adults, youth and juniors, with the wide, stable shapes that make deep-water starts easier for learners. Combo skis are the usual starting point: you ski on both, and most pairs include a release bar or rope to keep the skis together while a beginner finds their feet. For kids' trainers, the boat-end of any training rope must always be held by a responsible adult, never tied to the boat, so it can be let go the instant a child falls. Further up the range, O'Brien kneeboards and trick skis step into performance territory. The Enforcer is a stiff, high-end kneeboard for riders chasing edge control and pop, and the trick skis are built for the tournament trick event — short, flat and fin-free for spins and surface tricks. These suit progressing and advanced riders rather than first-timers. The collection also carries the spares that keep O'Brien gear running — binding bolt kits, kneeboard side bars, tube valves and adaptors — handy when a part wears out rather than the whole board. Browse the full O'Brien range online or visit the Brisbane store — give us a call and we'll size a combo ski to the rider's weight and the boat's speed.
Combo skis are sized mainly by rider weight and age. O'Brien makes adult, youth and junior versions of the Celebrity and Vortex — junior skis for kids, the longer adult pairs for teens and grown-ups. Tell us the rider's weight and we'll point you to the right length.
Yes — combo skis are the standard way to learn. You ski on both skis for stability, and the wide shapes give plenty of lift for easier deep-water starts. Most pairs include a bar or rope to hold the skis together while a learner gets the feel of it.
The Enforcer is a stiff, higher-end kneeboard built for edge control and pop off the wake. It suits progressing and advanced riders chasing performance rather than first-timers — newcomers are better on a tougher, more forgiving plastic board to start.
Yes — we stock O'Brien spares including front binding bolt kits, kneeboard side bars, and tube valves and adaptors. If a part has worn out, it's often a cheap fix rather than replacing the whole ski, board or tube. Ask us if you're not sure which part you need.
