It prevents water from shooting back into the boat when disconnecting the Tsunami pump. Fill the sac normally using the twist connect system, then at drain time connect the included pump fitting to push through the rubber diaphragm and release the water. No spills, no mess.

The Fly High Check Valve Quick Twist Adapter is a one-way valve that fits into the Quick Twist ballast system. It allows water to flow in one direction only, preventing ballast bags from draining back through the hose when the pump is not running.
Without a check valve, water can siphon back out of your ballast bags through the hose when the pump stops, particularly if the bags are positioned higher than the pump or hose outlet. A check valve maintains the fill level between pump cycles.
The Check Valve Quick Twist Adapter is designed for Fly High's Quick Twist fitting system. Confirm the connection size matches your existing Quick Twist plumbing before purchasing to ensure a watertight fit.
After filling a ballast bag and stopping the pump, observe whether the bag slowly loses pressure. If it does, the check valve may be faulty or installed in the wrong direction. A working check valve maintains bag fill level without the pump running.
Flush with fresh water after saltwater use. Inspect the valve for debris that can prevent it seating correctly. Replace if the valve no longer holds water flow direction correctly, as a failed check valve allows ballast to drain back between sessions.
