The Hyperlite Landlock uses monocoque construction with layered glass and a single concave fore body for smooth, predictable turning. A rolled edge softens the rails so they soak up chop and resist catching, while the concave EVA deck pad locks your feet in place for confident leaning.
The Hyperlite Landlock rides as a forgiving surf-style board. It favours smooth, predictable carving and holding a line through the wake rather than loose skim-style slides and spins, making it easier for newer riders to stay in the pocket and build confidence.
Surf-style boards have more volume, thicker rails and larger fins, giving strong drive down the line and a surfy, wave-riding feel that suits most riders. Skim-style boards are thinner and flatter with smaller or fewer fins, so they sit looser and skatey on the wave, making spins, shuvits and surface tricks easier but taking more balance. Many riders start on a surf style and move toward skim as they progress.
Wakesurfer size is guided mainly by rider weight and skill: heavier riders and beginners suit a longer board with more volume for easier planing and stability, while lighter or more advanced riders can drop to a shorter, looser board.
