Yes — the red Jetpilot Nighthawk is certified to Australian Standards Level 50 (PFD 2), the class approved for PWC and jetski use on smooth and partially smooth waters, with the high-visibility colour requirement built in. It also covers towed watersports on smooth water.
The red Nighthawk is the Level 50 (PFD 2) version — high-visibility and approved for PWC use on partially smooth waters — while the black is Level 50S, for towed sports on smooth waters only. Both share the same ecoprene construction, and buoyancy is identical across the two levels.
The Jetpilot Nighthawk L50 comes in mens sizes S, M, L, XL and 2XL in red. It uses a side-entry design with an anatomical fit that should sit snug without restricting breathing — a secure fit matters most on a PWC.
L50 and L50S carry the same buoyancy. The difference is colour: an L50 must be high-visibility, which is why PWC riders often wear them, while an L50S comes in any colour and is the usual pick for towed watersports. Life vests are sized by chest measurement and weight (and by age for children). Match your measurements to the brand's size chart and do it up fully — a correctly sized vest is snug and won't ride up over your face when you lift at the shoulders. Check every buckle and strap holds firm.
