The Jetpilot RX Vault Protech Race John is a sleeveless race john in 2x2mm 100% 360 stretch limestone neoprene, built for serious PWC racers and competitive wakeboarders who need CE-certified impact protection without losing mobility. Removable knee, shin and hip guards protect through high-speed water contact. Sizes XS–XL.
The Jetpilot RX Vault Protech Race John has removable CE-certified guards at the knees, shins and hips for high-speed water contact, plus a full-length zip for fast entry between races and flat-lock stitching to reduce chafe. It's impact protection, not a buoyancy aid, and pairs with the RX Vault Protech life vest.
Neoprene thickness is chosen for water temperature. Thinner neoprene (around 1.5–2 mm), as used in neo shorts and spring suits, suits warmer conditions and maximises flexibility, while thicker 3 mm and steamer-weight suits add warmth for cooler Australian water. Check each product's listing for its specific thickness.
Neoprene should fit snugly with no loose gaps, as trapped water reduces warmth — a tight fit is correct and eases slightly with use. Size using the brand's size chart for the garment (full suits use height and chest or weight; shorts use waist and hip). If you're between sizes, size up for comfort during longer sessions.
Rinse in fresh water after every use and dry in the shade, never in a tumble dryer or direct sunlight, which degrade neoprene over time. Avoid sharp folding — hang on a wide hanger. A light application of neoprene conditioner at the start of each season helps extend its life.
