Tube ropes are rated by the maximum number of riders they can safely tow — always match the rope's rider rating to the tube and the number of people on it. Heavier tubes and larger groups generate higher loads, so a rope rated for more riders uses stronger construction and reinforced loop connections. Check the rating on the product listing.
Towable tube ropes are typically 50–60 feet (about 15–18 metres) long, the standard range for towing behind a boat. This keeps riders clear of the boat's wake turbulence while keeping tow loads manageable. Check the individual product for its exact length.
Most tube ropes connect to any towable tube that uses a standard loop or quick-connect tow attachment, and suit single and multi-person tubes from all major brands including WOW, KD, Radar, O'Brien, and Jobe. Just make sure the rope's rider rating matches your tube.
No — never use a ski mainline or wakeboard rope for towing a tube. These ropes are not rated for the dynamic shock loads generated by towable tubes with multiple riders. Always use a purpose-built tube rope rated for the number of riders on the tube.
Check the full length of the rope for fraying, cuts, or UV degradation, and inspect the loop ends for wear or separation from the rope body. Any rope showing significant wear at the loops or along the shaft should be retired and replaced before towing.

Tube and towrope.

Kids love it. We have only ever used a ski rope to tow the tube. This dedicated tow rope is so much better. No more ‘stretch’ in the rope
