Masterline Classic Long V Rope and Handle

The Masterline Classic Long V Rope and Handle is a recreational water ski rope and handle package built from 80-strand Poly-P mainline with five take-off loops, paired with a 12" Suede Long V handle. The Long V section spreads the rope wide on the start so the ski tracks straight out of the water — easier deep water starts for beginners and mixed-experience family skiing.

The mainline runs 70' overall with shortening loops at 15', 22', 28', 32', and 35' off, so the same rope serves day skiing now and entry-level course work as the rider progresses. The 28mm-diameter aluminium handle bar carries a Suede Long V grip with a foam pencil float in the V and moulded end caps at the bridle.

Choose the Classic Long V Rope and Handle if you teach new skiers, share the boat with mixed-experience riders, or want one package that covers deep water starts and early course work.

A water ski rope is defined by its construction, number of shortening sections, and bridle style. Recreational ropes use low-stretch polypropylene with a wide bridle for stability, while tournament mainlines use pre-stretched or knotless sections for consistent, repeatable shortening lengths. Match the rope to your discipline — combo and recreational skiing, slalom, or trick — and pair it with a suitable handle.
A Long V bridle creates a wider, more stable pull angle, which is better for combo skiing and beginners as it keeps the skier more stable. A Short V provides a narrower pull angle preferred by slalom skiers for more direct edge-to-edge response.
Rinse in fresh water after each use and dry before storing. Coil the rope loosely — tight coiling can set kinks that affect performance. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct UV exposure to preserve the rope and the handle grip. Inspect section connections for wear before each session.
