The Masterline Classic Short V Rope and Handle is a recreational water ski rope and handle package built from 80-strand Poly-P mainline with five take-off loops, paired with a 12" Suede Short V handle. The Short V geometry suits skiers who are confident with deep water starts and want a more compact grip once up on the ski.

The mainline runs 70' overall (75' total length with the handle) with shortening loops at 15', 22', 28', 32', and 35' off — usable for course work as you progress. The 28mm-diameter aluminium handle bar carries a Suede Short V grip with a foam pencil float in the V and moulded end caps at the bridle attachment.

Choose the Classic Short V Rope and Handle if you've moved past needing the Long V for starts and want one package that covers day skiing and entry-level course work.

The mainline is 70' overall (75' total including the handle), with shortening loops at 15', 22', 28', 32' and 35' off, so it's usable for entry-level course work as you progress. The handle is a 12" suede Short V grip on a 28mm-diameter aluminium bar.
A water ski rope is defined by its construction, number of shortening sections, and bridle style. Recreational ropes use low-stretch polypropylene with a wide bridle for stability, while tournament mainlines use pre-stretched or knotless sections for consistent, repeatable shortening lengths. Match the rope to your discipline — combo and recreational skiing, slalom, or trick — and pair it with a suitable handle.
A Long V bridle creates a wider, more stable pull angle, which is better for combo skiing and beginners as it keeps the skier more stable. A Short V provides a narrower pull angle preferred by slalom skiers for more direct edge-to-edge response.
Rinse in fresh water after each use and dry before storing. Coil the rope loosely — tight coiling can set kinks that affect performance. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct UV exposure to preserve the rope and the handle grip. Inspect section connections for wear before each session.
