Yes. The Ronix Standard Core Skimmer is a value-oriented, lightweight intermediate skim board that uses the same foam as Ronix's Flyweight Skimmer. That makes it a solid first skimmer for riders learning 360 spins and getting comfortable on a three-fin setup.
The Ronix Standard Core Skimmer comes in 4'5", 4'10" and 5'2". Size mainly by rider weight, with heavier riders suiting a longer board; see our wakesurf size guide if you're unsure which length to choose.
It has a thin Standard Core build with hard rails and machined EVA pads front and rear. It runs a bottom-mounted three-fin setup and can also be ridden as a single fin, letting you tune between looser spins and more stability.
The Ronix Standard Core Skimmer is a skim-style board. It sits thin and loose for surface spins and skate-style tricks, and the three-fin option adds tracking and stability while you build your skim technique.
Surf-style boards have more volume, thicker rails and larger fins, giving strong drive down the line and a surfy, wave-riding feel that suits most riders. Skim-style boards are thinner and flatter with smaller or fewer fins, so they sit looser and skatey on the wave, making spins, shuvits and surface tricks easier but taking more balance. Many riders start on a surf style and move toward skim as they progress.
Wakesurfer size is guided mainly by rider weight and skill: heavier riders and beginners suit a longer board with more volume for easier planing and stability, while lighter or more advanced riders can drop to a shorter, looser board. Board style matters too, as skim boards are usually ridden shorter than surf boards. Check the size guide or ask our team for a recommendation.
