The Ronix Wave King Skimmer is made for larger riders, tested up to around 300 pounds, who want a stable skimmer with plenty of float. Its extra surface area helps bigger riders spin 360s and stay in the pocket, making it forgiving for heavier riders learning skim tricks.
The Ronix Wave King Skimmer comes in one size, 5 foot 1. It carries over twice the surface area of a standard skimmer, so that single size supports big riders up to around 300 pounds. Check our wakesurf size guide if you are near the lower weight range.
The Ronix Wave King Skimmer stands out for its oversized outline, giving more than double the surface area of a normal skimmer. A concave bottom and fast rockerline keep it responsive despite the volume, Koal Classic construction adds dampening, and three 3-inch Blueprint fins run on the button system.
The Ronix Wave King Skimmer is a skim style wakesurfer, the smoother, easier-to-control option in the Wave King range. It favours loose spins and 360s over drawn-out carving. Riders wanting a more dynamic cutback feel choose the surf version instead.
Surf-style boards have more volume, thicker rails and larger fins, giving strong drive down the line and a surfy, wave-riding feel that suits most riders. Skim-style boards are thinner and flatter with smaller or fewer fins, so they sit looser and skatey on the wave, making spins, shuvits and surface tricks easier but taking more balance. Many riders start on a surf style and move toward skim as they progress.
Wakesurfer size is guided mainly by rider weight and skill: heavier riders and beginners suit a longer board with more volume for easier planing and stability, while lighter or more advanced riders can drop to a shorter, looser board.
