The Sumo Max 675 is a compact ballast bag with the same construction and performance as standard Sumo sacs, plus the faster Sumo Max fill port. Measuring 40" x 19" x 19", it's a good option for boats that don't have the locker space for larger Sumo Max bags.
The 675 suits riders wanting solid added weight without needing a large sac, fitting tighter locker spaces while still filling quickly through the Sumo Max port. It's a compact alternative to the bigger Sumo Max bags for smaller boats or supplementary ballast.
Ballast bags come in a wide range of capacities, from around 400 lb up to 1,100 lb or more, so you can match the weight to your boat and the wake you want. Check the individual product for its rated capacity — the name usually states the weight (for example, a 650 lb sac holds around 650 lb of water).
Ballast bags use a threaded or quick-connect fill and drain fitting that connects to a ballast pump and plumbing. Fitting types vary by brand and system — check the product listing and match it to your pump and hoses, or use an adaptor where needed.
Ballast bags are placed in the bow, rear lockers, under seats, or in the V-drive lockers depending on the bag and the wake you're shaping. Bow bags settle the boat, while rear and surf-side bags build the wake for wakeboarding and wakesurfing. Choose bags sized to fit your boat's storage areas.
Fill time depends on the bag's capacity and your pump's flow rate — a larger bag takes longer, and a high-flow pump fills faster. Aerator-style ballast pumps typically fill a large sac in a few minutes. Avoid over-filling, and open the vent so the bag fills fully.
Drain the bag fully after use and let it dry before long-term storage to prevent mould and odour. Store it out of direct sunlight, and check the fittings and seams for leaks or wear. Emptying bags before trailering also protects your boat and bag.
