    Neoprene thickness is chosen for water temperature. Thinner neoprene (around 1.5–2 mm), as used in neo shorts and spring suits, suits warmer conditions and maximises flexibility, while thicker 3 mm and steamer-weight suits add warmth for cooler Australian water.
