The Hyperlite 1.7" Drop Surf Fin Pair is a set of two small drop-in fins for Hyperlite wakesurf boards. The 1.7" size provides moderate grip suitable for riders who want a balance between drive and freedom on the wave.
Drop-in fins are compatible with Hyperlite wakesurf boards that use a corresponding drop-in fin box. Confirm your board uses this system before purchasing — Hyperlite also uses other fin box types across their surf board range.
Smaller fins like the 1.7" provide less hold and a looser feel, allowing the tail to slide more freely for tricks and snaps. Larger fins offer more drive and predictability — beginners generally benefit from larger fins for stability in the wave pocket.
Drop the fin into the fin box slot from above and secure with the screw. Tighten firmly. Check tightness before every session and carry a spare screw on the boat — fin screws are small and easy to drop overboard.
Rinse in fresh water after use, store in a protective pouch, and inspect the fins and screws before each session. Replace if chipped or if the screw no longer holds the fin securely.
