The Hyperlite MOAB comes in three sizes: 4'6" at 23.5 litres, 4'9" at 25.14 litres and 5'0" at 28 litres. Heavier riders should size up for float, while lighter riders can choose a shorter length for a looser feel. Our wakesurf size guide can help you match volume to weight.
The Hyperlite MOAB is handcrafted with epoxy construction over an EPS core and wood stringer for a lively ride. A deep concave gives drive and control, reverse tail channels boost speed and loosen the tail, and a large grab rail makes handling and rail-to-rail transitions easy.
The Hyperlite MOAB is a surf-style wakesurfer. Its true surf outline, deep concave and grab rail favour fast rail-to-rail carving and boosting off the wake with a skate-like feel, rather than the loose, sliding spins of a skim board.
Surf-style boards have more volume, thicker rails and larger fins, giving strong drive down the line and a surfy, wave-riding feel that suits most riders. Skim-style boards are thinner and flatter with smaller or fewer fins, so they sit looser and skatey on the wave, making spins, shuvits and surface tricks easier but taking more balance. Many riders start on a surf style and move toward skim as they progress.
Wakesurfer size is guided mainly by rider weight and skill: heavier riders and beginners suit a longer board with more volume for easier planing and stability, while lighter or more advanced riders can drop to a shorter, looser board.
