Description

Masterline Spectra Fusion Core Pro Barefoot Rope

The Masterline Spectra Fusion Core Pro Barefoot Rope is a 27.5m (90ft) Spectra Fusion Core barefoot mainline, built from a 21.5m main section plus two 3m shortening sections. Spectra Fusion Core construction at the line takes stretch out of the system, so boat speed and direction changes register directly at the handle.

The 21.5m main length sets a standard barefoot tow distance, with the two 3m drops bringing the skier in closer for shortened-line work. Built to the Masterline standard for ropes that hold up under sustained barefoot loads across a full season.

A barefoot ski rope is a low-stretch mainline built for the high loads and speeds of barefoot water skiing. Barefoot ropes are shorter and stronger than a typical ski rope and are usually paired with a barefoot handle. Many float or include a foam or PVC core for easy retrieval.
Barefoot mainlines use low-stretch materials such as poly-E or Spectra. Spectra offers minimal stretch and high strength for a direct, consistent feel at speed, while poly-E is a durable, cost-effective option. Some ropes add a PVC coating or foam core so the line floats.
Many barefoot ropes float thanks to a PVC coating or foam core, which keeps the line on the surface and makes it easy to retrieve after a fall. Check the individual product to confirm whether it floats.
Some barefoot ropes are sold as a mainline only, while others come as a complete rope-and-handle combo. Check the product title and description to see whether a handle is included.
Rinse the rope in fresh water after use and store it loosely coiled out of direct sunlight to avoid UV damage and kinks. Inspect the full length and the loop ends for fraying or wear before each session, and replace the rope if it shows significant damage.
