Masterline USA is the tournament arm of the Masterline name — the lines, handles and accessories used on the slalom course, in the trick event and off the jump ramp. Everything is made in Orlando, Florida, the heart of competitive water skiing, and built to International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation specs. For recreational ropes, covers and tube gear, see the Masterline Australia range. Slalom mainlines are pre-stretched, low-stretch poly in eight colour-coded sections, so you can shorten the line accurately to your off-length — the numbers like 9.75 and 10.75 refer to those shortened lengths in metres. Slide-loop and knotless designs let you change length cleanly without knots that weaken the line. (Slalom mainlines are poly, not Spectra — Spectra is reserved for trick and jump lines, where its near-zero stretch matters.) Handles are the tournament-grade end of the range: custom team handles, radius (bent) handles that ease forearm fatigue on long sets, and rubber or EVA grips matched to glove type. Trick gear includes Spectra-fusion trick lines built for precise, consistent spins, and a trick harness for toe-hold work. Jump skiers have dedicated low-stretch jump lines, a jump sling and jump handles that hold tension through the ramp. There's also a Spectra-fusion barefoot rope for the long line behind the boat. Gloves complete the kit — Kevlar-palm tournament gloves that grip natural-rubber handles in high-load slalom and jump, plus palm protectors and Kevlar liners to extend glove life and reduce blisters. Browse the full Masterline USA range online or visit the Brisbane store, where the team competes and can spec a line, handle and glove combination to your event and ability.
Masterline USA is the tournament range, made in Orlando — 3-event slalom, trick and jump lines, competition handles and Kevlar gloves built to IWWF spec. Masterline Australia is the affordable recreational range: social ropes, handles, covers and tube gear. Same name, different jobs.
They're off-lengths — the shortened line length in metres at a given loop. A tournament mainline has eight colour-coded sections you take off in sequence as you progress, so 10.75 is a longer (easier) setting than 9.75. Slide-loop designs let you change length without knots.
No. Slalom mainlines are pre-stretched poly for controlled, consistent stretch under load. Spectra (Dyneema) is used for trick and jump lines and barefoot ropes, where near-zero stretch gives precise, predictable pulls. Matching the right material to the event matters more than one being better.
For tournament rubber handles, Kevlar-palm gloves grip best and last longest under high load in slalom and jump. Match the glove to the handle — less aggressive palms suit EVA and suede grips. Palm protectors and Kevlar liners extend glove life and cut down blisters.
