Boat ballast adds weight to your boat so it sits deeper and throws a bigger, longer wake or a cleaner surf wave. FATSAC — made by Fly High — is the aftermarket water-ballast brand, using tough PVC bags you fill with water and drain when you're done, so the weight is there when you want it and gone for trailering and higher-speed runs. Bags come in shapes for where they sit in the boat. Bow sacs fill the front storage, V-drive sacs tuck into the rear corners, floor sacs sit in the walkway, and side sacs run along the gunnels. Plug-and-play (PNP) sacs are cut to fit specific hulls — Malibu, Axis, Nautique and Mastercraft — and connect into the boat's existing ballast plumbing. Capacity and shape both matter: more litres means more wake, but only up to what your hull and motor can safely carry. Bags fill and drain through an external pump. FATSAC stocks Jabsco and Johnson pumps along with the hoses, quick-connects, hull fittings and adaptors that complete a system. The pump is submersible, not reversible: to fill, you drop it in the water and run the hose to the bag; to empty, you move it to the bag and run the hose over the side. One pump, repositioned, does both jobs. Wake shapers are the other half of a good surf wave — they clamp to the hull and deflect water to shape one clean side, and pair well with ballast. Wake surfing should only ever be done behind an inboard boat, never an outboard or stern-drive, because of the exposed rear propeller. Browse the full FATSAC range online or visit the Brisbane store — and if you're unsure how much weight suits your boat, give us a call.
It depends on your hull and motor. More water weight throws a bigger wake, but only up to what the boat can safely carry and still plane. Plug-and-play sacs are matched to specific Malibu, Axis, Nautique and Mastercraft hulls; for other boats, match bag shape to where it sits. Ask us if you're unsure.

More weight makes a bigger wave, but shape matters as much as size. Ballast sets the volume; a wake shaper clamps to the hull and cleans up one side into a surfable face. Most surf setups use both. Wakesurfing must only be done behind an inboard boat.
FATSAC makes universal bags in bow, V-drive, floor and side shapes that suit most boats, plus plug-and-play sacs cut for specific Malibu, Axis, Nautique and Mastercraft models that connect to the factory ballast system. Match by where the bag sits and how much water it holds.
